I’m super super excited to share this with you! I was lucky enough to be invited to this year’s Laneige Global Beauty Camp in Seoul, where I totally got first dibs on their upcoming products -feeling super duper loved- 😀 Besides the Water Sleeping Mask (review to come realllly soon), here’s another one that’s been rocking my socks for the past few weeks. (you’re one of the first in Singapore to be reading the review!)
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – SGD$27
(available 7 May 2015)
I say…
The Packaging: It’s a pretty frosted little tub with a matte finishing texture as well as a gradient-finish colouring. The cap is a screw-on one, while the overall container is made of sturdy plastic (which means I don’t have to worry about packing it into my luggage when I travel, yay!). All in , it’s a pretty fuss-free and simple packaging.
The Formulation: (as taken from their information) Formulated with the powerful Moisture WrapTM found in Water Sleeping Mask, as well as the vitamin C-rich Berry Mix ComplexTM, the Lip Sleeping Mask gently melts and erases dry, flaky skin on the lips overnight. The Berry Mix ComplexTM consists of eight types of berries – raspberry, strawberry, cranberry, blueberry, gojiberry, soapberry, cloudberry, and coffee berry – whose potent antioxidants are extracted using a cutting-edge super-high pressure extraction technology to produce a highly concentrated complex that is easily absorbed by the skin.
The Application: It comes with a little spatula to scoop up some of the product (although I’d rather call it a “scraping” cos it’s sort of a wax candle-texture which liquifies with heat (aka me rubbing my grubby fingers over the surface to “warm” it up)). The spatula is made of pliable and bendy rubber, and is shaped somewhat like a shovel / spade. It does help in terms of keeping the product hygienic and clean, but personally, at the end of the night when I’m just about to lay my quivering tired body (along with them jiggly bits) down to bed, I kinda want to get it over and done with – I just clean the fingers and use it to apply direct to the lips.
The Scent: There’s a very nice fragrance to it too that’s not overpowering. It has a somewhat signature Laneige scent too (I wish I could let you smell it).
The Texture: It’s kinda like melted wax – liquidish but not sticky. It goes onto your lips like a slightly thicker-than-usual lip balm, but isn’t greasy/sticky/icky. When I smack my lips together, it feels like I’ve got a coat of moisture layered on. You can see from the pictures that my lips are instantly “juicier” looking too.
The Application: Because I didn’t get mine in the original box packaging (and therefore have no instructions), I’ve tried various methods and found them all to be feasible 😀 Note that they may not be the recommended application methods, but I’m still gonna stick by them cos they have performed quite well.
- As a mask: You can apply a thick layer before going to bed and leave it on overnight. In the morning, there’s absolutely no residue. It melts away the flakey bits during the night (although I sometimes solve that with a lip scrub). Wake up to plumper, firmer, more hydrated, softer and more moisturised lips.
- As an instant perk-me-up: If I’ve got some fancy schmancy event to attend, I apply a thick coat for 10-15 minutes, wipe it off, and then slap my lipstick on. It instantly helps moisturise and hydrate the lips.
- As a lip balm: Apply a thin layer and follow up with your usual lipstick. It works as a lip balm should – it moisturises, plumps up and softens your lips. Lip colour that’s applied over it doesn’t sink into the lines of the lips.
The Verdict: This is a serious godsend to me. I don’t know how many of you have experienced this, but I have had split lips (at the side) more than once. In fact, I’ve had them split at least 3-5x in just this year alone. I know it sounds icky yucky eeww, but it’s because I sleep in airconditioned room, I often wake up to very dry lips. This situation is exacerbated when I’m on medication for whatever random sickness I may have. Even if I’m not sick, somehow, I just suffer from this situation all the time, and this Lip Sleeping Mask is a life (or lip) saver. You can see the stark difference in lip texture. These days, I can barely go to sleep without applying this. I LOVE YOU, LANEIGE LIP SLEEPING MASK~! xoxo
Psst: I know it’s quite a long wait till 7 May when it’s launched, but be patient~ good thangs are worth waiting forrrr (like the cushion highlighter that will be coming out soon!) For more information on this product, read my Beauty News here.
Haha it’ll be released on my birthday! Really want to try this, my lips are so ew right now 😦
You can get it as a birthday present for yourself! 😀
I know how you feel – my lips are horrid ALL the time, until I got this
I really like this product idea… It’s so low maintenance.
Yes it is! I just apply it before I go to bed, and I wake up to nice lips 😀

When I saw your post on the goodies, I was drawn to the lip mask. I have horrible dry peeling lips with no amount of lip balm that can cure it. I cant wait for this to be out!!!! counting down to the day that I can run to laneige counter to grab this!
It’s really awesome! I was quite excited when I first saw it too, and I’m so happy that it didn’t disappoint 😀
I must purchase this! My lips are so dry all year round. I love the Laneige water sleeping mask too. Jay x
It seems to be really popular based on the comments and feedback I’m getting! And the new Water Sleeping Mask is really good too – it’s worth a try!

oh my god, I neeeed this lip mask in my life. Such a great idea!
You took the words outta my mouth – it’s such a “need” product! I split the corners of my lips when I was in Korea, and it was such a terrible experience, not being able to eat properly. Never again, with this product! 😀
