And it’s the weekend! (well, almost). It’s time for fun in the sun (again, almost). Those who know me will probably snicker at that comment – I’ve been known to avoid the sun like a plague (a stark contrast to my uni days where I’d lie in my balcony in Aussie and sunbathe for 2 hours). These days, to make up for the bad sun habits back then, I’m slathering on the sunscreens and hiding in the shade like a beach girl-turned-vampire. Hah.
The Packaging: There’s almost no discernible difference between the older version and this new and improved version’s packaging – still the slim, handy-sized plastic tube with a flip-open cap, with the addition of an orange strip which adds some colour vs the old black-and-white one.
The Scent: As with most Kiehl’s products, this has no scent.
The Texture: Lightweight, easy to apply and even more easily absorbed than its predecessor. The finish is a an almost matte one with a hint of glowy radiance (which I’m guessing is because of the light reflecting qualities of the physical sunblock ingredients (ingredient list to come really soon!)) There’s no sticky nor greasy after-feel, and the skin feels pleasantly refreshed (without that feeling of being weighed down or clogged up).
The Verdict: Well, considering the fact that I’ve been slathering the previous version onto my body (I know, I know, major indulgence), I’m even happier that I’ve now found a stronger Prince Charming to protect me from the harmful (sun) daggers of the sun. My makeup sits nicely atop it without streaking or running, and when applied onto the body, doesn’t make my skin feel all icky in the humid weather. Yay to eternal white and fair skinnnnn 😀
