Laneige Watery Cushion ConcealerLaneige Watery Cushion Concealer – SGD$35

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (1)Love that there’s a slit window in the side of the product so you can check remaining product levels

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (3)The two ends of the Concealer – it’s a click-pen delivery system

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (2)Does this not look like the softest, fluffiest and most delicate feather-touch puff in the world?!

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (4)And after dispensing the concealer… the puff is not a pretty pink anymoreeee.

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (5)I use Shade 1 Splendid Cover [what a bombastic name lol]

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer (6)Note: There’s no foundation/bb on my face

I say…

At the risk of sounding like a mushy 80s’ movie repeat, can I just say that I’m so glad I found you? I’d been wanting to stock on my IOPE Dual Essence Concealer but -gasp- horror of horrors – it’s been discontinued cos the brand is looking to revamp their line of products.

  • It comes a pen-tube packaging that is surprisingly made of metal (or some sort of alloy), cos it’s slightly weighty and also cool to the touch. Perhaps this is to maintain the integrity of the concealer product inside?
  • There’s a side window with a slit that shows the remaining product, which is oh-so-useful.
  • Now, we come to the puff. It’s called the Dual Effect Moist Flocking Puff that’s so soft – it feels like I’ve been touched by an ant carrying marshmellows everytime I apply it.
  • Omg I love, love the ingenuity of this – brush-type concealers usually leave some streaky marks on my skin (perhaps due to my lack of application technique), so I usually end up patting it into place with fingers. This takes away the need for that!
  • You dispense the concealer by clicking the end of the pen, and as usual, you’ll need a good many clicks for the very first usage (I counted more than 20 clicks for mine).
  • However, once it dispenses, you only need 1 click of product for 3 applications of 2 eyes.
  • There’s an amayzzzing scent from the concealer  -it’s not overpowering and yet it wafts down to my nose for a good 5-10 minutes after application. naiseee.
  • Now the consistency of this is a balm-liquid combination – providing the moisture of a liquid concealer, but the coverage factor of a balm one. Perhaps this can be attributed to its formula that contains 35% moisture (vs the usual oil + wax combi).
  • It can be spread relatively easily with the uber soft fluffy puff, but it gets a little weetle bit more difficult to blend when you’re using a finger.
  • It sets into a semi-matte (with a slight glow) finish.
  • As you can see, its coverage factor is high – you can barely see my purplish-black dark eye circles.
  • I use it for facial spot coverage too – just dot it on with the puff and gently blend it in.
  • Its formula is also said to protect your skin from sweat and sebum with a “coated defense layer”, and is also formulated with arbutin that is supposed to lighten blemishes with repeated use and inbibit melanin formation.
  • Beauty tip: Apply your concealer after your foundation / bb / vhutever you use. This is so that you avoid rubbing off the concealer when you apply stuff on top of it.
  • Wear time: It lasts a decent time (I clocked a good 3-4 hours) and doesn’t melt or do a David Copperfield disappearing act on me.
  • In any case, whenever I touch it up, it doesn’t cake, and all I need is an eensy weensy little bit.
  • It’s available in three shades – No.1 Splendid Cover, No2. Natural Cover and No.3 Soft Cover. I’m a Laneige 13 and I use shade 1 for this.

Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer method2

Kbeauty tips from Laneige:

  • Using feather-light strokes, apply Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer on concerned areas and blend using the ring finger, in a gentle tapping motion.
  • Draw magpie feet on the shadowed areas of the face, including the skin between the eyebrows, below the eyes, next to the nostrils, mouth corners and jaw area. After this, use a brush to gently blend and remove boundaries.
  • Depending on the desired coverage, this concealer can be applied either before or after the Laneige BB Cushion, depending on the finish that you wish to achieve.
  • For a flawless finish, apply Laneige BB Cushion, followed by the Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer, while for a light and natural finish, you can apply Laneige Watery Cushion Concealer, followed by Laneige BB Cushion.

I’m already carrying this around everywhere I go so of courseeee I’d recommend it. Please carry it around with you everywhere too, so that I can rob you of yours (if you’re a Shade 1) when I see you. hurhurhur.

Available from August 2014 onwards [be patient! good things are worth waiting for!] xoxo
